Hamilton College

For my latest assignment, my crew and I traveled to central New York to photograph Steven Tepper, the incoming president of Hamilton College, as the prestigious liberal arts institution prepared for his inauguration as its 21st leader.
With the campus relatively quiet, as classes had yet to begin, we had a unique opportunity to explore it extensively. We spent the first day on-site location scouting and exploring campus buildings and the serene nature paths and walking trails that crisscross the grounds. These locations were chosen to reflect the diverse aspects of Hamilton College and to provide a comprehensive visual narrative of the institution. This preparation allowed us to develop an efficient production plan, which would start at sunrise the next morning to capture Steven in some of the nature-themed locations we identified.

Before joining Hamilton College, Tepper served as the Dean and Director of the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. His extensive experience in higher education and innovative approach to arts and design education made him a highly sought-after leader for Hamilton.
The images we captured will be used for various purposes to celebrate Tepper’s installation as the school’s new president. They will appear on the cover of the alumni magazine, serve as Steven's official presidential portrait, and be included in several print and web collateral applications as well as press releases.in a variety of applications to celebrate the installation of Tepper as the school's new director - from the cover of the alum magazine, serving as Steven's official presidential portrait, and being used in several print/web collateral applications and press releases.
